Location

Castle Cottage is a Restaurant with Rooms in two of the oldest houses in Harlech, 100 metres from the World Heritage Site of Harlech castle. We are just off the High Street (B 4573), close to all local amenities. We have a limited car park area in front of our annex (only three spaces), but there is an unrestricted car parking area nearby plus a public car park within 50 metres. What's the weather like today?

Beaches: The fantastic coastline of Cambrian Bay and the Llyn Peninsular offer dozens of quality beaches within easy reach ranging from small, secluded beaches to popular resorts offering a wide range of watersports, boat trips and fishing. Castle cottage is perfectly positioned for you to experience some of the most beautiful and dramatic scenery that our part of Britain has to offer.

Heritage: This area of North West Wales is rich in history and boasts four World Heritage Sites (built by Edward I) at Harlech, Caernarfon, Beaumaris, and Conwy as well as a wealth of smaller castles, historic houses, tourist attractions and monuments. The Italianate village of Portmeirion is just 15 minutes drive away. The Ffestiniog Railway is based in Porthmadog.

Hiking: Harlech is within the Snowdonia National Park which provides you with the opportunity to try out the many varied walks and footpaths, from gentle strolls on the beach to the challenging hike to the summit of Snowdon, or you can ride up on the train via the Mountain Railway at Llanberis.

Golf: The Ryder cup comes to Wales in 2010 and with 18 courses within 1 hour drive of Castle Cottage, our area is a honey pot for golfers of all levels. Our residents receive a 10% discount on green fees at six of the best - Royal St.Davids at Harlech, Aberdyfi, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Nefyn and Caernarfon. Wales’s recent title of "Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year" is going to change to “ The golf destination in the UK”

Harlech is a pleasant two and a half hours drive from Liverpool, Birmingham or Manchester, while London is a four and a half hour drive. If you decide to take the beautiful Cambrian Coast railway line from Shrewsbury we can collect you from the station.
